What are the system requirements for Tap on the Shoulder?
Tap on the Shoulder operates as a Microsoft Project plug-in, so you need your computer to be running Microsoft Project 2007 or 2010. It also uses Microsoft .NET framework version 3.5, which is included in Windows 7. If you have an earlier version of Windows, such as Windows XP or Windows Vista, be sure the .NET framework 3.5 is downloaded onto the system.
NOTE: We have had some customers with Windows XP and Project 2007 who have had a hard time getting Tap on the Shoulder to appear. This works in the lab, but there are multiple dependencies that could get in the way. For this reason, it's ALWAYS a good idea to download the Demo version first, before purchasing the Full version. That way, you can be sure it works on your system.
But basically, if you're running the latest Windows and Project, you're all set.
Will my email address be used for marketing purposes?
No. Never. Email addresses are handy as unique identifiers to activate your copy of the program, because you always remember them, and you don't have to guess if they're already being used by someone else. But we never give/sell/lend your email address to anyone for any reason.
Will Tap on the Shoulder still send task notifications to my team if I'm on vacation?
Yes. There is a setting that will send things automatically at a certain time every day, even if you're not there. The details are in the PDF that you can download from this page, a little farther down.
I like to control when task notifications get sent out. Can I set up the software so it asks me first?
Absolutely. Tap on the Shoulder was made to accommodate a variety of work styles.
Is there any limit to the Demo version?
There is (with one exception) no feature limit, only a time limit. The Demo version works for a month, Then, if you want to keep using Tap on the Shoulder, you can just purchase the full version for $49 (U.S.) and use it with no time limit. The only feature difference is that the Full version enables you to customize the emails that get sent to your team.
Is there any credit card or financial information required for the Demo version?
No, we don't work that way. Companies that offer "free" versions for a limited time, but ask for credit card information up front (perhaps hoping you'll forget to cancel) are demonstrating poor taste and bad business. We won't ask for any money until you've had a chance to live with the value of this software for a month.
When I buy the Full version after using the Demo version, do I need to reinstall the software?
No. You only need to activate the Full version. Since the Demo version is fully featured, activating the Full version will just make the software you've already installed work indefinitely.
Is there a user manual available?
